Well, I agree... The Hestia works far better in a battle group than it does alone (its older stable mate the Hestia Alpha is better for solo duty), but when supported by by a balanced mix of smaller and larger ships, the Hestia
really shines.
And that's the whole point, isn't it? BSF is built upon the concept of ships protecting and supporting each other, a role in which the Hestia truely excells. It shouldn't be knocked just becuase it doesn't work quite so well alone in a game where ship's
aren't supposed to work alone...
I admit the Hestia
used to be a whimp, though, when it had three regular blasters and its pulse guns were on the front tips of the wings where they would easily be blown off, but
now it can put out a truely surprising amount of blaster firepower thanks to its gatling blaster, it's now close combat worthy because its pulse guns aren't nearly as subject to damage in their new placement (making them an effective defence against alien raiders, for example) and their deflectors still give the ships a nice suvivability rating, the thing that primarily attracted me to the HAD in the first place...
I love the HAD, I really do... definately my favorite TFHQ destroyer...
