Would a dieterling, 0 AI range, Kinetic missile be allowed?

My intention with the Super Companion Cube was to create an artillery platform that would be able to fill the sky with projectiles and hopefully overwhelm defenses enough to tear into the flanks. My main concern is how viable this design would be against a Dieterling device, as that would hamper accuracy and potentially get me killed if it were to jump in close.

The alternatives I'm considering are a gun platform and a support platform. The first would basically be lancets, gatling blasters, and defenses. The latter would stay back and make use of fabbers, nanos, and other things to assist without actually doing much in the way of attacks.

Shwoop-da-whoop ! I've managed to build this monster of a ship that should be able to take on anything without lancets. It's fugly, but it'll get the job done (bear in mind it hasn't been named yet, this is still just a Test).

Ship.

No.
What about a non-dieterling KM? With a battle ship loadout and decent speed I could pack in 3 dozen sections!

I'd think an AI range of about 100 would be more effective, so it rakes more sections.

You could try a kinetic missile, but I think the mothership has enough armor that it either wouldn't do enough damage, or you could do more damage with a regular ship. Bear in mind that I haven't tested verses a missile, only random pieces hitting the damn thing, so it may very well.

The thing is, we'd be out one ship, and you'd never get the hp high enough to take it down.

the kinetic missile is a bad idea, it will probably not be effective anyways, and then we will be down one ship.

Yeah- if you're wanting to throw ships at it, go for a Demeter carrier. Couple pod launchers, bunch of regular ones, back it up with Lancets or something...

Greetings Team.

I've got dibs on a medium-long range 'invulnerable' ship. It'll be able to absorb a lot of damage, and also provide much consistent damage. I'm still tweaking it some, so no dl yet.

600 AI range, Normal AI
Weapons: 2x quad blaster, 2x gatblaster, 2x blaster, 1x point beam, 1x particle gun
Modules: 1x Aegis Deflector, 1x Nanomatrix

We just need someone with a suicidal gat-pulse ship that would completely distract PD.

Basically, as long as there are no flankers and not too many plasma charges, my ship will be able to take quite a beating. It's a bit slow though - 1.2 speed, 0.04 accel, 0.64 turning.

I can do a suicidal gat pulser, if you want.

Make sure you're fast and agile, but load yourself with somewhere around 10-12 gat pulses, and set your AI range low. Trust me, you'll freaking annihilate everything in front of you. A tactic you may wish to try is the "fighter" speed/accel ratio, where you have 0 AI range, high speed, but low accel, so instead of standing in front of the ship getting blown to pieces, you make quick strafing runs. This way also means you bypass most defenses.

Should I make room for a couple Lancets on the Super Cube, or whatever replaces it?
