Yup. Lancets, PD distraction, "distractor" ships, lasering, then continued lasering, pulsars, and eventual destruction. So our test runs and those modifications to our ships that we made did prove out to be effective in the end, then.

My special thanks to the following people:
antisocialmunky - for your exhaustive reviews of our ships...
Jafo - for assisting ASM and also coming up with the fleet formations...
QwiceNitely - for creating Jormugand, which was like...opening up its gatling blasters right in the MS's ass?
Commodore111 - of course, DOOM was awaiting...
Tsakara - Sogeki Hei...those pulsar barrages were even mine...
Colonel_Sanders - hey, although Turtle died rather fast, it provided a nice shield against the megatachyon and quite a hell of a distraction, didn't it?
Droid - as what ASM said about a month ago, your ship did quite a hell lot of damage over the entire time...
Everyone else - for helping us in one way or another

And of course, to the great EndlessInfinity, for running a great fight and an exciting tournament. Well, what more could I ask for?

Nice video, can't wait to see the rest. Grats to Alpha, looked like that thing didn't know who to go after. I see the shock beamer/the beamer ships as really making the differnce in that fight. Not to mention the mass lancet action effectively crippling the big whore. All in all, a masterpiece of engineering. I don't really see much team work in this battle, just well built ships that can defend long enough. To let the lancets do there dirty, and the beam ships dominate. C- for teamwork, A+ for efficency, B- for firepower, A- for defense, and a A- for mobility. You have Darken's feedback :D you pass :!: :)

I would say there was team work. Each ship had its own role and fulfilled it even if it was to 'do something and don't die horribly quickly so the lancets can kill the enemy.'

Turtle and Jormungand take the biggest beating and delay it.
Citrus and Cuddlefish snipe and confuse the MS.
The Beamers and the Pulsars do lots of damage.

The pulsar ships were barely effective, the decoy ship really didn't decoy.
The other ships seemed to do there own things individually, and did not seem to work in cohesion. Hence the A for efficeny, yet the C for teamwork. Also the nano ship barely stayed with the others to heal them. I could go on, but my grades were accurate in my opinon. Thats called efficent and well built, not using teamwork really in my opinon. Again excellent battle, I look forward to seeing the others. Sorry if the input comes off to strong, just being honest to what I see.

Well, everything went according to plan. Each ship did its job and we won. I don't know what other definition of teamwork really is. Our ships pulled off the plan to destory the other ship. Each ship did its job and we won. I think you're thinking of 'mutually supporting.'

I guess its true that our ships kinda had to fend for themselves. But our ships support each other by doing their specific jobs. Looking forward to Delta and their brute force beamers. :D

It should be interesting to say the least.

Hopefully we can cook up some section HP BBQ with all our beam firepower. 8)

I personally do admit that our decoy ships got beaten up quite badly at the beginning, but then the Aegised Cuddlefish (Jafo) managed to continuously turn the MS round...and round...and round again, where the rest of the team (beamers and pulsars) opened up on the big thing. So I disagree with your opinion, 'Shroud, cause our team had our own strategies as to ripping apart the MS, and we worked together to create a fleet of 8 to destroy it. How many teams would actually send in two ships without any offensive weapons at all as secondary decoys / repair ships (Jafo and ASM)?

And no, those pulsar ships helped to do damage at opportune times, like when PD was getting lanceted off and the rest of the team were busily blasting the sections into pieces of crap. Both Aphelion (my ship) and Sogeki Hei (Tsakara) managed to effectively blanket the sections with fire later - especially Sogeki Hei, which was happily firing time and time again as the MS simply retreated from the force of a section blowing up again and again. So I'll again have to disagree.

EDIT: I'm quite sure Delta's beamers should be able to defeat the MS - those lasers just ignore the PD and bypass that. So yes, no problem when it comes to defeating the alien bastard.

Why yes, I do believe there is!
I'm uploading Beta as we speak, I expect it to be up in about 40min.

Oh, and if anyone is wondering how I placed ships for teams without fleet designs, I organized the ships in an alphabetical row at roughly half-way on their side. I then placed my ship accordingly.

Oh, and Chaostheory? My mistake with the intro has been vindicated - my mothership ate Kalanosis', that ship-name swiping bastard ;)

edit 2: Here's the mothership and scaffold .sb3's, if anyone is interested

Funny how hue-shifting something in Paint.net can produce such... interesting results.
