Do we have any set date for the MetaTrial to begin, or are we just playing it by ear for now?

It'll be ready when it's ready. ;)

Are their going to be corporations, or an equivalent to produce new ship designs for the factions, or are the factions going to have to build their own ships?

It is very unlikely that corporations will exist as they did in Meta1. That said it will be possible to run your faction like a corporation, for example selling blueprints/production rights on a limited or permanent basis, or even selling ships you manufacture by yourself.

We also plan to allow for multiple players per faction. That way aspiring faction leaders do not need to be shipbuilders, and shipbuilders don't have to run factions.

are there going to be any updates to the available power cores or engines? e.g. more types available or rules about having multiple cores

Not during the trial period.

Does this mean the actual game is starting now?

No, you'll be informed when things are really getting started. I figured I'd get a quick map prepped so you all had an idea of the area and systems you'd be fighting over.

Like the names you gave to all of the systems. Damn, I wanna be part of the Crimson Coalition and design... certain looking ships.

Start cranking out those ships, I've checked and approved the first batch on both side.

On the subject of shipmaking, can there be "private corporations", people who aren't ingame but can design ships for the factions? Just an idea.

Obviously if you're a small-scale entity you can't officially profit or compete in the wars. If you're a member of a faction and you happen to be given complete control of a shipyard to use as you please, well, that's the call of your faction leader.

You could, feasibly, donate designs to people if you wanted, but you wouldn't be able to gain anything from it.

Weekly ship approval will be a bit delayed until I recover from the multiple papercuts on my dick after fighting off a hoard of essay monsters.

I just joined, and have no idea what this is. But I like the sound of whatever it is. I went into the game from scratch, no guides no help. I do believe my Ship designs have gotten much better. How do I know if they are acceptable and how do I get in this if possible

The trial is currently closed, and the full game won't be starting for some time. I suggest you use the intervening time to brush up on your ship designs, which are - to put it bluntly - visually inferior to today's standards. Still, you'll have plenty of time to improve. Focus on your shipbuilding first, then you can think about getting involved in this sort of thing.
