I'm more of a modern classical (not contemporary music. I want to take contemporary music and burn it) person, so I prefer works by people like Rachmaninoff and Vivaldi (well he didn't write all modern classical, but he wrote some pieces). Sadly I don't like Beethoven much.

French music is also somewhat nice, mainly since Chopin is my favorite composer, then you have people like Debussy and whatnot.

But I also like sort of 'medium' jazz, which isn't as laid back as it can be, but isn't that same bustling tone you'd get with those 'big bands'. Sort of like the music you hear at restaurants.

Finally I suppose I am a fan of techno, or really any song that's catchy enough to get stuck in my head.

Are you dissing Debussy? His Arabesque 2 is one of my favourite pieces, well mainly because I just played that in a concert. Chopin is very good. My favourite piece by him would probably be Grand Polonaise.
