Does anyone here play any of those "niche" maps that get a lot of hard work put into them, but are almost never hosted?

e.g.

Genesis of Empires (II more specifically, but I is fine also)
Heroes and Empires (Same applies as above)
Simple Life
Starship Command (Uhh... I think it was called this... Or "Fleet Command". It's a pseudo-turn-based game [i.e. ticks] that incorporates a lot of cool concepts nobody else has thought of, e.g. upgrading your shipyard will allow you to build ships faster)

This was the very reason I didn't stop playing so often a month after I was originally going to. It was called space command. Amazingly simple, yet highly effective game.

Quite a few people in my clan play Genesis of Empires sometimes.

I play much more obscure maps...

Ignore him. Anarki hates everything that requires skills.

Space Command is awesome...Until you get 4 planets massing Auroras and Battlecrusiers...Then it just sucks...everyone leaves...

GoE2= Rbubish..
GoE1=Guddz
Simple Life= Fun, but gets boring fast.

Space Command requires the same skills used to play RuneScape - REPETITIVE CLICKING.

All do you is click your mine 50 times to get a supermine, and click your shipyard god knows how many times to get an army.

Whoop-dee-fucking-doo.

And the battles, oh the battles, how BORING.

For the Attacker.


-command shield

For the Defender.

Still, it requires strategy, and risk, as well as good prediction.

"Does that guy have a fleet? Would I get stabbed after my attack finishes?"

Diplomacy too.

Th15's SST or TH15's SST: Zulu Angels.

They rule. Especially Zulu Angels.

Himura, you micro, I stuff down 20dmgtech, 40 Hull, 15 Armor and 10 thruster tech Auroras down your fleet.

OUCHIES.

The new Mass Driver base turret is riggrar..

EDIT: Tank commanders still work, yesh.
