stupid game concepts - real games

Post by thanto_ »

You ever see a game and just wonder, who the hell would play that? Yeah, I just found two on fileplanet:

Farming Simulator Demo

Become a farmer and experience the thrill of driving heavy modern farm equipment as you try and feed the world! Grow and harvest crops while utilizing a variety of vehicles and implements over the 900+ acre island in your quest for farming greatness.

City Bus Simulator Demo

Learn to drive a city bus in the urban city. Meet time schedules and drop off all the passengers on time while avoid busy traffic.

I mean, seriously, these are *games*? And they expect people to PAY for them? What's next, a "Paint Drying Simulator"? Feel the thrill as primer bonds to the wooden planks! Experience the wonder of Behr Premier paints!

Wait what? Buses are allowed to deviate from their routes?
Why do the city buses I'm on always just sit through the heavy traffic?

y'know that farmville is probably one of the most popular games on facebook right now, if not THE most popular? :D
So, uhm, if you were wondering who would play a farming simulator...

Well, I think the point here is who would pay to play games like this. After all, Farmville may be the most played, but it's also free.

Come to think of it, Harvest Moon was a farming simulator, and people seem to have enjoyed that...

But it also has other elements, such as an integrated dating sim.

Then again, there's alot of people out there. Saying that noone at all would appreciate it is a tall assumption.

Middle-aged, stay at home, kids are at school moms who also play bejeweled and or scrabble knockoffs.

Harvest Moon. A series of popular video games based on farming. Just because the premise of a game might seem absurd it doesn't mean it won't be enjoyable.

OK, maybe farming sims would be ok. Kinda like sim city, but with vegetables instead of buildings. Or something.

But you have to admit, a bus driving sim? Unless there was some carnage involved, I don't see how that could possibly be interesting.
