Did you actually change the right one?

What you want is "CORE_MOUSE_SPEED0"

Yup, I changed the right one. And just to make extra sure, I changed all of them.

As far as my limited knowledge of coding goes, there's no reason it shouldn't work.

Try changing other CORE_MOUSE_SPEED entries, not just the first one.

My next bit of advice would be to uninstall the game entirely. Reinstall and change the value right off and see if it does anything. I know for a fact that that's the right value, as it worked wonders for me. If it still doesn't work, I'd wager (though not very much) it's a hardware problem. Get newest drivers, etc. Try a different mouse if you have one lying around.

Also: how do you find and subsequently use gems? I've yet to come across any.

Wait, I think I got it. Slayer probably changed the 0 while you have to change the number bellow it.

On a side note; Is it just me or did the campaign get a lot shorter?

Maarten, my code looks like this:

Code: Select all

CORE_MOUSE0=
CORE_MOUSE_SPEED0=14
CORE_MOUSE1=
CORE_MOUSE_SPEED1=3.2
CORE_MOUSE2=
CORE_MOUSE_SPEED2=3.2
CORE_MOUSE3=
CORE_MOUSE_SPEED3=3.2
CORE_MOUSE4=
CORE_MOUSE_SPEED4=3.2
I can only assume that is right.

It depends on the mouse, sensitivity etc. A friend of mine had to crank it up to 50 for the game to be playable.

Actually, i think theres something wrong. There should be something after one of the CORE_MOUSE entries, for example:

CORE_MOUSE0=\??\ACPI#PNP0F13#3&2411e6

Looks like it dosnt detect your mouse for some reason?

Maybe try adding 'Simple', ie. so that it looks like this:
CORE_MOUSE0=Simple

What the hell... i could swear i posted right after this:
Slayer0019 wrote:The same PC that plays Unreal Tournament 3 maxed can't handle a mouse sensitivity boost on a 2D indie game?

It seems that config.ini is being completely ignored, or at least my changes are. Any more ideas?

Kaelis, I believe he was referring to this.

Thanks for the tip about the mouse recognition, but it confuses me as to why I have nothing. I'm using a Logitech G5, so it's not like it's an obscure mouse or anything.

Sorry, I was unclear. I meant to refer to the "CORE_MOUSE_SPEED0" setting as opposed to the actual value associated with it. CORE_MOUSE_SPEED0 is definitely the right thing to change, though it does seem mileage varies greatly as to what you should change it to.

Also: my CORE_MOUSE0 is set to "Simple". Just another data point, should anyone be interested.
