Random generators for all your naming and inspiration needs

Post by Verminator »

I ran across a random naming generator. It contains generators for Alien race names and descriptions, settings, organisations, weaponry and more. All are pretty ridiculous, but it's great fun. Here are some of my favourites and some examples of results I got:

Techno-fantasy monster names:

Electronic Hellhound
Tachyon Homonculus
Wireless Leprechaun (AWESOME)

Class/Profession Generator (I set it to Sci-Fi mode)

Bionic Graviton Teacher
Hyperspatial Psychologist
Sub-polar Fusion Cyborg
Time Smuggler (You smuggle using time travel)

Guns

Hydroannihilator Magnum (neat)
Turbotearer Cannon (I've no idea what this would do, but it sounds violent)
Gripper Bazooka (Probably a nightmarish version of those fairground machines where you're meant to pick up stuffed animals.)
Crowd Control Cyberflayer (I want one, whatever it is)

Alien Races (Inspired by Pulp sci-fi and Doctor Who, apparently. It shows.)

Horse-lizards Of The Zombie Zone (awesome awesome AWESOME)
Nanominers Of The Red Nebula (Would make a good fleet)
Gravitic Annihilators Of Counter-earth (cool)
Plaguebots (Makes swine flu look like the sniffles)

Ridiculous Villain Pets (RELEASE THE (X))

Release the supersonic single-minded manatees! (There is no escape)
Release the armored teleporting genetically-engineered platypi that feed off of fear! (incredible)
Release the supersonic angry cyborg pigs with the ability to walk up walls! (Look out, it's spiderpig)
Release the genetically-engineered angry cyborg squid that spit poison darts! (alright, why has no-one done this in a film or game yet)
Release the shape-shifting pigs that live to destroy! (This reminds me of a nightmare I once had)

There are many others too, in the sidebar on the left. This site is incredible.
I have to kill fast and bullets are too slow.

Space Phenomena Generator is good too:

Sir, we made the jump through the Active Extra-Dimensional System Vortex, but are now trapped in a Binary Mono-Cascade! There must be a Black Node nearby, but we haven't pinpointed it's location yet.

EDIT: I like the "Assault Eraser" as a weapon!

MORE EDIT: The fun never ends: Aquatic Cavalry: The "Nimble Rescuers" - Half-Elves using spells to breathe water, riding orcas, armed with warhammers. This unit is mainly used for rescue operations.

The Corporation Generator is pretty good as well:

Genetic Power Training (ha)
Hunt Gas Grocery
Sims Unlimited Consumables
Limited Future Development (that'll work)
Pollution Training Investments
Gay Medical Sports (...)
Games Of Bethesda (has Bethesda Softworks infiltrated the site? :P )
African Game Confectioners (caramelised impala cubes?)

Ridiculous Villain Pets:

Release the mind-controlled throat-ripping cyborg ducks!
Release the minature teleporting vampire roaches!
Release the armored shrimp that throw blasts of energy!

You can use the demonweb's Fractal World Generator to make random world maps for stuff. It even has a feature that lets you create a spinning globe of your map in .gif format.

Not sure if it's a Hijack, but it seems pertinent.

It's more of a random name picker though. Names come from a large variety of nationalities.
