Looks pretty nice; as long as it is as customizable as BSF, I'll have it.

Lol Dh, I'm pretty sure that BSF has spoiled the lot of us with its range of customisation. Looking at the ships I doubt that there's a make-your-own option :/

There's a make-your-own option.

At least if the captions I've seen are to be believed.

Seriously? More options than just picking a hull and adding weapons?

Judging from those alpha vids the weaponry is a lot less fun than bsf's

Well, here's hoping that it's got as much potential as BSF does :D

I think that only applies to things like weapon loadouts. I don't think you can make your own hulls.

Not sure... What I've seen possibly implies modifiable hulls...

I should probably check those videos again...

EDIT:
GSB is a strategy / simulation game where you build up starships from modules,
Video where this is found here(possibly in others)...

Also, this guy seems to have unusual access to videos of this game(possibly official)

Yeah, that guy is official. He's the developer. Also, there isn't any hull customization; Wicky's right. The problem is that the hulls are 3D renders that utilize self-shading. That means, essentially, parts of the model shadow other parts. Without a built in 3D rendering engine, this would be difficult or impossible to do in real time. So yeah, it would be cool, but it would require more work than the developer can afford to commit and still have this ordeal be profitable.

Check out his development blog here:

It's a really interesting read, and provides tons of little bits of information about the game.

I have his devlog on RSS feed. He updates it almost every day, and from the sound of his little updates, he's putting a lot of thought into not just the game, but the balancing too. I can't wait.

This may be a necro, but it's relevant. The game has been released for beta pre-order. You pay now and get the current beta version, and will be kept up to date with patches up to and including full launch and beyond. I for one am getting it.

Even better part is, it'll probably be cheaper than the full release price.

IIT, Slayer demonstrates an allowable and justified necro.

17.97 ... isn't that a bit much for an indie game?

i'd rather buy an copy of HW2 for that money, older, better, and moddable.

it really says 17.97 on the order page, maybe its different per region land etc.

It's listed as £13.31? That's pretty cheap, y'know.

Darn kids.

Take in mind we have no idea how moddable GSB is just yet, but cliffy intends to release tools if possible and support modders as much as possible.

Says 19.95 in US dollars. That's a pretty great price.
Also, +1 for the tools, he does in fact plan on developing and releasing them.

Plus, I like the look of the sheer scale of this game. If you watch some of the youtube videos, holy fuckton of fighters.

Ultimate price depends on the country. For me, its 24$, while mainstream games cost around 33$ here.
