Arcalane wrote:PCG have a habit of advance-dating their magazines for some daft reason, so if you buy in January you'll get the "February" one. It could be a marketing thing, I dunno.
That's done by almost all magazines so if there's a production problem that slows down printing, it can still be sent "on-time." However due to the utter lack of production problems, hmmm... *sabotages all of PCG's printers* magazines always seem to come out a month (or more!) ahead of schedule.

Top-down, spaceship strategy pew-pew focused on ship building/customization, which is actually polished, good looking and has decent spaceship designs... GOD, YES.

If thats not enough to make you drool, watch the videos:

On a related topic... Ive noticed that there are no longer mainstream games that im really excited about; my interests switched almost entirely to indie games. Mainstream is all about replicating established themes and schematics, eyecandy, boobs and manly men. Theres very little innovation, and if there is - its usually bogged down by corporate mentality (Spore  ). But on the indie side, there is stuff like Machinarium, Feist, Zeno Clash, Infinity, Fez, GSB... stuff ill gladly pay for, in contrast to games like Gears of War or Halo 3. Even this Borderlands game doesn't really make me jump.

Anyone else got the same feeling?

The last game I was atcually exited about was released in November.

Of course Kaelis, indie games have the monopoly on most of the unrestrained creative freedom and innovative thinking that makes games so appealing.

You're not alone, almost everyone I've spoken to about mainstream VS other have expressed some disdain for the big corp entertainment conglomerates.

OH GOD WIN.

Kaelis, I have to agree completely with your switch to Indie game hype. I am really lookng forward to Cortex Command (http://www.datarealms.com/) becoming more developed, and I don't really care much for many big games. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that most indie games are PC games, as I've grown annoyed with my simplistic console friends.

Go pick a free corner then.
All other games from them have a free demo and a buy button.

Bah, cheapskate!

Seriously, the guy deserves to be paid for this. Especially since he had to hire a proper artist to do those ships.
