Post Spammers?

I'm too damn lazy to write the huge post that really should be accompanying this thread's name, so I'll just get to it quick: what's with the huge influx of ever so pointless threads? I was looking at the Memberlist the other day... and almost tore my head of and impaled it on my chair (don't know how that works... I would have made it happen) when I saw TheBlueEcho as having the third highest number of posts. At least the number of spammers are few... we only have 51 users with more than 200 posts. For now.

That's nice to know, 2% of the forum population having more than 200 posts. (Yay! I'm a spammer! I'm 4th highest!).

I'd say it's because th15 is starting to attract more and more people.

Don't you think it's sad that an army of 250 active posters has 51 admirals and 7 grand admirals? Then again, we are the faithful few.

FYI, a significant portion of the member list are bots.

EDIT: And I might note that you are no better when it comes to useless posts. I've seen you pointlessly quoting posts and not adding anything, don't deny it!

We could always set a trap ...

I figure a thread containing a much disputed, but impossible to determine, topic will attract people like flies. Then all we need to do is see how many people actually argue, how many quote and how many try to suck up to whomever they can.

Maybe something about video game consoles ? Everyone seems to have an opinion on that.

uh its really simple: some people have many post because they are on the forum since a very long time and post frequently.

However. I visit this forum every day but I only post if I have something to say. so sometimes I don't post anything for weeks. and maybe once or twice in a long time it could happen that I post someting totally worthless.

However I would never judje someone only by its post amount.

I hope noone says this post is worthless. (and the trap idea is good, I almost fell for it, yup even with the quoting!)

I actually don't post that often. If I do quote something without adding anything, it's because I feel that everything that needs to be said is right there. The only reason I rank as tenth is because I've been around for so long.

High post count doesn't always equal spammer. Actually, i think most people with high post count actually post meaningful stuff. TheBlueEcho is a bad example imo (as in, hes not really a spammer).

Although i do have to to admit that lately theres been influx of new members that do drop some trash here.
