I use Irfanview for cropping pics for the web, and paint.net for any drawing/pixelart.

My vote is the GIMP - tonnes of support out there community wise, and only a few less features than Photoshop.

Sorry, but yes. Yes you can do that in Paint.

Is it made up of pixels ? Yes ? Then anything is possible :D. Probable, though; no.

It would take upwards of 3 years.

That has quite obviously been sped up. It's sections done at different times recorded and then smoothed together.

Alternatively, it could have been done with scripting (I.E having a computer script draw it for you) in about 20 minutes and then sped up to 5.

Also;
Look at the picture I as talking about. Note all the tiny detailing in the background.

I was wondering that for the longest time - see, either you've hid it with double-tab or just clicked X. To unhide the dialogue double tap the tab button, if you've closed it go to (under the main window) File-Dialogs-Create New Dock and get the top one. Don't ask how I figured that out by myself :D.

To Deathguard; please remember that there are people more talented than you in drawing :). The person who did that (probably) also had the aid of a tablet, which would make MS Paint more like a piece of paper than anything else.

crtl+L should do it, unless you have the controls configured differently.
