This looks so bad that it had better be a joke... My god... *Facepalm*

And I thought DBZ was bad enough.

Be careful what you wish for there. Santa's feeling generous. ^^

I read all of Dragonball when I was younger, but the actual plotline would most likely have made for a shitty live action movie. This is gonna be so bad it's good and you people need to stop taking shit so seriously.

Lets see:

Adapting an idea from the east? Check.

All main characters are played by Caucasian actors? Check.

Almost all of the elements found in original story are unceremoniously dropped? Fine. I guess I can make do without Oolong. Check anyway.

All secondary, supporting characters are played by (big-name) Asian actors? Check.

Unexplained introduction of gimmick characters most likely played by non-asians that are not found in the original source? Check.

Unfaithful rendition of characters and plot line? Check.

Insipid, meaningless movie name tack on (what part of this film garners 'Evolution')? Likely check.

Cliché screenplay and gratuitous use of SFX? FUCKING CHECK.

Verdict:

This is going to hurt so much. Must watch!

Forget downloading, I'm heading straight for the theaters just so I can enjoy the look on peoples' faces viewing it with me.

At least the producer of Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle is on the production team. Looking forward to outrageous action scenes.

God, Hollywood are really stepping up the gas on these atrocious remakes, aren't they? Paramount's doing Star Trek XI (which is looking more and more like a "leave your brain at the door" action fest about as far removed from Star Trek as you can get) and at the same time, 20th Century is doing this... *Sigh* To quote Ben Crowshaw, is there some kind of virus that attacks creativity going around, or something?

Seriously, I never liked the Dragonball franchise (or indeed any anime franchise I've seen to date), but what is with all these remakes!?

This will be terrible.

For anyone who likes real anime and wants their hopes crushed, I hear Ghost in the Shell, Akira, and Cowboy Bebop are all getting movies.

RULES MOTHERFUCKER, CAN YOU READ THEM!? This is a necro. You posted in a thread that has been inactive for well over a month, and posted two sentences of meaningless drivel. Bravo. Dumbass. Be thankful I feel too goddamn lazy to give you a warning.

Edit: Scratch that. Turns out I don't feel quite so lazy. One warning for necro posting.
