HaloPC How do I trick into running with decals and shadows?
My video card is an (Onboard) Intel Brookdale G with latest drivers, 64 MB VRAM, and can run other games with shadows and decals on that are from 2005 in about 50-60 FPS. Halo is from 2003.
Also what do I do with the guy leaning on the wall with a pistol in his hand and shooting at you in the mission where you have to stop Keyes from entering the "Weapons Cache"?

Assuming you mean the one gibbering about what happened to his squadmates, you can either ignore him or put him out of his misery. The pistol is fairly weak and can't really harm you very much unless you stand there like a complete dope, since he mainly shoots at your body rather than your head. I usually use a swift melee to put the poor man out of his misery. Saves him the torment of being found and assimilated, because he -will- be found eventually.
Also, get an actual graphics card rather than using the inbuilt.

It's the only way.

Welcome to the world of the console port, where PC graphics are badly scaled, and horribly optimized. Not to mention 1-3 years out of date when released.bien4500 wrote:My video card is an (Onboard) Intel Brookdale G with latest drivers, 64 MB VRAM, and can run other games with shadows and decals on that are from 2005 in about 50-60 FPS. So no, unless you want to drop your framerate.

I just want Decals on, Halo runs at around 45-55 FPS any way on my computer, I used Fraps to measure my FPS.

@Kaelis: Yeah, the controls may work fine on a PC, but I've played both versions, and I gotta say it's one of the few shooters I actually prefer on a 360. Part of that's the controller, the other part is the fact that I don't need a ZOMGWTFBBQH4X computer to run it, as the PC version framerate drops to single digits too oft for my taste...
Though I play Crysis on my comp with all high settings, so I guess that makes me a bit of a hipocrite.
