Just to steal Verm's thread title.

But I'm thinking defensive platforms should get decent, percentage-based mass/power boosters -- even if they don't need engines, guns are pretty heavy right now, and they need to be well armoured too.

Thoughts?

Maybe give them a different kind of power core that needs less mass yet still has a decent power output? I assume in addition to the engines taking up a lot of juice, a warship will need most of its power for FTL travel. That's got to free up a lot of mass/ juice when you take that consideration away.
