Factions and Officers - Notes

Okay, I don't think this has been officially stated anywhere - or if it has, you lot haven't really noticed it - but Factions can have multiple players in them.

Players can take the roles of officers, ship designers, etc. etc. as negotiated with the founding member of the faction. This means you don't necessarily need to be a good shipbuilder to run a faction - you can have an officer make them for you! Another possibility is negotiating for construction contracts from other factions, and there might be some basic ships offered to all players for when all else fails.

If you have any questions on the abilities/powers/priviledges of officers that can't be answered by "that's up for you to negotiate with the founding member of the faction", feel free to post them.

just thinking about what you said about basic ships for everyone, could these be designs for imperial navy ships? after all, will the remnants have any navy force, and if so that's what i'm guessing will represent it. also with this, if a faction is based on the loyalist or renegade templates will the extra navy ships they start with be of their own design or a central imperial design?

No, they'll likely be from an independent contractor-corporation NPC within Remnant space however.

The Empire-Remnant will, but they'll be using their own special designs, as befits their status.

Loyalists and Renegades will start with degraded versions of some Imperial warships. These ships have some of the same tech as their normal counterparts, but due to age and patchwork repairs, cannot be salvaged for technology.
