Strategic, for now. In-combat ECM tends to be too good against the AI, and too easy to circumvent for players.

would it be possible to have an ECM unit and a scanner on the same ship or would the ECM prevent the scanner from working?

also, would however far this is in the future people still be using white noise? i mean, even today that's been pretty much useless for years as it just makes you easier to detect in the first place (oh look, there's a huge patch of white noise, that's not in any way suspicious). nowadays we've got stuff like projectors that fool enemy radar by giving false signatures in different places and more, so surely in the future it'd be more advanced than this

Another M2 ship, this time, a M2-compatible Dresden, your favorite suicidal missile carrier.
Needs my IWC missilebox to work though.

EDIT: Updated the Centurion-class with harder armor.

EDIT2:Added the Spacetank Enfield, in two variants.

EDIT3: Updated the Centurion-class to make it a proper M2 ship... damn me for not reading the rules properly...

Regardless of the actual methods employed (and assumedly there would be several) The result in game terms is identical, also craft with ECM modules don't just scatter noise in all directions, they direct it towards the thing that they want to jam. And yes, you can fit scanners and ECM on the same craft.

The "Azure" Class Frigate, uses a HEL and three Autocannons, with a light Power Core, and a Light and two Ultra-Light Engines.

The "Cyan" Class Frigate, same as the "Azure" just with the HEL swapped out for two Vulcans and Five more Autocannons.

The "Cyan" consistently lays the smackdown on the "Azure",partly due to where the HEL is placed, but mostly due to the extra 2.24 DPS.

Civilian power core and engine modules have been posted, for those of you wishing to make your own civvie ships.

I recommend using an ultra-light power core with 2-3 civilian engines and 2000-3000 used mass respectively. Sections should have about 50 HP each. You should be able to afford a couple of light weapons, but otherwise, civilian ships should be lightly armed, lightly armoured, and slow - not, you know, passable warships.

Elysium-class Light Transport

A newer transport on the Corobian market, it is rather fast and is both used by civilians and the military. (50-threat)

Corsair-class Light Frigate
Image
An old design still used by the Corobian Navy due to it's low cost and size. It's usually used for convoy escort or in light raids, very rarely is it seen on the front lines. (Recently fixed some issues with the design) (90-threat)

Aeolus-class Medium Frigate
Image
A newer frigate design used by the navy, it isn't much slower than the old Corsair but is much faster and deadly. (100-threat)

Aeolus-D
This version of the Aeolus has traded two autocannons for a drone bay, which allows it to launch drones to cripple targets with no anti-drone defenses, best used in groups.
