On the subject, tehplazmom. The grand Novian empire would like to extend our hand in friendship. We believe an alliance would be mutually beneficial. We would lend our firepower to you band of merry raiders in return for a cut of the tech and muffins you plunder. And of course, assistance in our war fronts.

Numerically Mioran - Ratai Alliance might not be outnumbered, but counting in that most of those numbers are Ratai ships (and most of them small ones), firepowah vise we might be.

@Muffin. Yeah. Im not certain how functional the alliance might be. Propably it would work best with number of semi independent pacts between not all but some. ( o. O)/ Of course, im sure Ratai are quite grumpy at SW after their freighters got blown up. That was huuuuge investment (not to forget minor sad thing of lives lost.) I think SW - Ratai - Mioran alliance is more of an Mioran - Segregation warpand alliance with just Ratai tagging along since they have defence pact with Miora.

Politics, especially in galactic scale are... difficult (O. O )

HG is neutral about pirates, but they will not purchase goods from them if those goods prove too be stolen. they will try to protect those being attacked if they witness it. They also do not purchase slaves (legal or not) in case some faction has that legalized or something.
