The problem is that most of the time the coordinates for the shield are usually within the ship's hull due to the shape of the sprite.

as long as it's range 0.1 it shouldn't heal any of the hull sections, as it tests the range from the centre of the sprite

My my, I suddenly feel very humble seeing STARSTRUCK's and calvin's work, Its kinda obvious who is going to win aesthetics :3
I think the induction of "LOL" "OMG" and "<3" into the Oxford English Dictionary is a sign of the End Times. Only, instead of a rider on a pale horse, it'll be a gibberish-spewing spastic in a monster truck named "The Dildozer".

Real men use .7z. :P No idea why you'd be unable to download my ships from mediafire. Hm. Doesn't matter, I'm not really happy with them right now, so I might just make two completely different ships. We'll see. If I do decide to stick with these ships I'll repost a different download for you.

Four questions:

Is the size used to calculate power allowance also without shield like with mass allowance?

Is there some kind of specific guideline to the size and shape of a shield? I can see people distorting a bit to affect performance.

Also, will core orientation follow the same centering rule as with the late metagame 2.0?

Lastly, will the actual fights be recorded with a program like fraps for the rest of us to watch? Personally, I think that's half the fun.

yes,

yes, it should only cover the front half of the ship and should be quite a close fit to the ship (there's plenty of lenience there anyway)

yes, it should be right in the middle

and yes, for some of the big ones. i have fraps, and seeing as fights take very little time it should work out fine. i'll also post screenshots from all the matches

unfortunately calvin, seeing as you utterly broke the beam calculations, i had to update the weapon calculator to prevent this, and therefore all beam weapon need to be updated. it'd also be nice if there was a little bit of variation in some peoples armament...

james however, you've finally got it so your corvette is approved, now you just have to make a cruiser
