I've dabbled with GM a few times, and I *think* I know where the problem may originate. It's kinda hard to explain, but can you try downloading this fully installed version to your computer and see if it works?

Here's the link: http://filesmelt.com/dl/BSF_Duplicate.zip

Along with that, are you running your computer as administrator, or with any sort of firewall/antivirus?

Sorry LactoseTolerant, but your duplicate aren't going to get me anywhere as it carries the same errors.

Also BSF are on the execions list on the Firewall menu, and my antivirus doen'st even know that BSF exists.

I did a little experiment and got a result not entirely unlike yours. My error reads:
ERROR in
action number 1
of Create Event
for object obj_sidebar:

Error defining an external function.

I got this when trying to start both BSF and SM. How did I get this? I still had BSF v0.88d, hadn't uninstalled it because I wanted to check forums on converting sb3 to sb4. Anyhoo, I uninstalled v0.88, then when I tried to start BSF/SM (v0.90d), no dice. So, I downloaded the zip and extracted etc., same problem. So then I downloaded the full installer and ran it, seems to have solved the problem. Maybe there are some files missing in the zip? I don't know, now I'm off to try putting my SM files back in order. Hope this helps, if not, sorry, I tried!

The zip file thing. Havent worked, I don't know what more to do, also Gunshcrek haves only 512MB RAM so the problem can't be memory.

Sorry, we're misunderstanding each other here. I was saying that the zip file download didn't work for me, I had to download the full installer.
Actually when I got down to doing some shipbuilding today I discovered the whole sandbox was glitching like a mofo, basically was unusable. So, I uninstalled again, this time going through my C: drive with a fine tooth comb looking for residual BSF files. And I found some. Deleted the little b's, did a disk-cleanup, then ran the full installer again. This time, it seems to have worked, I been at it all day rebuilding erased spacecans, not one glitch. Don't forget if you're using vista to use the recommended filepath. Good luck, an' if this don't work you need help from someone with a much deeper tech knowledge than I got.

There is no misunderstanding at all, 'cause the ZIP file don't worked for you, and the installer aren't working for me so i tought that the Zip where going to work for me. But i was wrong, and i'll try what you said.

Thanks for the help.
