Having a heavy problem with BSF

Post by .Xrate. »

I'm having a GOOD problem with BSF, the game doen'st start for real. When i say to it to start, it shows me the picture of the warships in battle, and everything, but when is the time for the game to really start it just doen'st, it stays with a Black Screen (i've kept for 45 Minutes and nothing happened) just the black screen.

Also my computer meets all the MINIMUM System Requirements, so it would have to at least start.

Here goes the specifications:

1.60GHz Processor
768MB RAM
256MB Graphics Card
60GB Hard Disk Space (don't know if matters however...)

Also i don't have exactly a computer, but it is instead a Notebook.

Notebook? You mean one class smaller than laptop?

What's the OS?
Realism, seriously? It's a space ship game. Realism was thrown out the window a long time ago.

Well I'm baffled.

The ONLY thing i could see that is the problem is the measly 768MB ram.

There should be an game_errors.log file in your battleships forever folder, can you post the text inside it?

Just ignore any errors like that and the game should continue playing just fine.
Not even death can stop the truly determined.

My goal is to build the most epic thing possible, PERIOD.

I told them, "I want to add to the world."
They said, "Then learn how to use the editor."
I asked, "What is the editor?"
They said, "Life."

have you tried uninstalling and reistalling bsf? that could help

if that doesn't, try using the meta build to see if it's just that copy of bsf or it's a problem with your computer

If you haven't tried it yet, try turning down all the graphics options.

Turn off music, turn of aliasing, windowed mode, etc.

Have you tried deleting all the weapons in SM and trying again, it's a error concerning a bullet, so yeah.
Nothing is forever. It can't be. 'Cause everyone changes.

Learn to fucking read, ADM. BSF isn't even starting. It's not an issue with the weapon.

The twin autocannon bug is an old, weird one that pops up now and again and can be rectified by ensuring you have the latest version installed, sometimes by reinstalling, or maybe by using one of the MIRV builds.

I've unistalled more than 3 times and it still doen'st start. I don't know how to get the Meta Build, Could you post a link?

I would turn all it off Squishy, if i could get to the main menu.

Well i don't think its a problem with the version as i have the 90.d, however i think that this aren't the latest version, 'cause i'm off from the BSF universe from a long, long, time.

Also i got some questions about the last Metagame that i've seen on the forums, like

*Are there going to be another soon?
*If there is going to be another one, how can we play it?

Thanks for helping me.

EDIT: I've TRIED to run the MIRV beta, and it DOEN"ST run, how can i solute this? I really have to play BSF, i have 4 new ships to test and i can't put download links of my designs if i can't even test them!

Open up your bfconfig.ini file in your battleships forever folder and replace all the text with the text below. This will turn off all the graphic and sound settings in order to at least narrow down the range of possibilities.
