can't find my shipfiles!

Post by Alreadyunder »

Im probably missing something here, but i reinstalled BSF a while ago and made up some ships, with the idea being i would pit them against some of my friends, but I can't find the files on my computer, they appear normally in C:/Program Files/Battleships Forever, when i try to open them in the ship maker, but when im trying to find them any other way, say, through MSN or just the explorer i can't find them, they don't seem to show up.

Whats happening??

Are you using Vista? If you're running with UAC on it likes to store them somewhere else. I forget where exactly though.

If Vista + UAC ... Vista tricks your program into thinking it is writing to program files, while silently saving the data to the virtual store (c:\users\username\appdata\local\virtualstore).

Oh, thats right there they are, is there a fix for this? Its sort of annoying to have to find them like this every time i want to look at a file.

Thanks.

User Account Control. Go to the Security Center under Program Files and turn it off. Vista will nag you occasionally about it being off but it's not a real concern.
