Enemy EMP Torpedoes have spawn error messages upon detonation.

Not sure if this problem has been reported yet.



EDIT: Looks like it has, but is there a solution?
If admirals hate and trash your ships,
If you can't get it right;
Then off you go, but don't call quits;
Just go make custom sprites.

I've come up with another bug encountered on larger ships. (47KB)

It pops up randomly, but it's giving me headaches:

ERROR in
action number 1
of Create Event
for object __newobject1018:

In script nTur2:
Error in code at line 24:

l_section[argument6].l_child[l_section[argument6].l_childnum] = l_weapon[wj]

at position 4: Unknown variable l_section or array index out of bounds


I figured it was something with the triggers and driver systems I have for the turret, but the thing is, I never modified the turret. When this pops up, I'm basically forced to reset it. (Delete half of it, delete triggers, reset triggers and drivers, and re-mirror.) While I know where the problem is now (I spent an hour trying to find the right weapon the first time it came up...) I would like to know is there a solution?

Same Problem, i can't use EMP torpedo launchers... never... :|

what the fuck does this mean came up in game

ERROR in
action number 1
of Draw Event
for object SFX_DeadSection:

Error in code at line 5:
draw_sprite_ext(l_speckle,global.l_speckle,x,y,image_xscale,image_yscale,image_angle,global.World_SColour,image_alpha-l_glow)

at position 22: Unknown variable l_speckle

it was after part of my ship got blown up

That is saying that the game can't find the graphics for the explosion.
It occured when a piece of your ship got destroyed right?
Nvm this happens with some custom sprites.

Nothing that I know short of modifying the program.
You would have to go into the main program and whenever that particular piece dies tell it what images to load.
This is hardcore programming though.

At least I think this is right.

Can it, newguy, you have no fucking idea what you're talking about. :|

This is an intermittant bug that seems to be quite old and extremely rare, so it's a bit hard to reproduce. The ship is probably a loss if it won't fix itself when saved again, or used in a different instance of BSF.

It's actually related to the glow somehow. Try turning glow off?

glow is already off i hate that pixelated shit around my ships so don't think its that its only when the section is destroyed but i can't pin down which section it is yet

Once you find out which section is it, post the .sb4 and .shp of that ship along with sprite export.

i found out what was wrong the error was caused because the glow was turned off, turning it back on alleviated any problems thank you for your advice and support.

Random nitpicking :)
When you save a ship with a quadblaster, leave and return (re-open the ship), the quadblaster will rotate slightly, thus turning it into a blurry mess. Probably a problem with the sprite - changing it solves the problem.

Really minor as pretty much nobody uses the quadblaster any more.

strange bug i've noticed recenty. on some ships modules (e.g. thrusters) with alpha set to zero will appear at alpha 1 when jumping in, but don't when spawned normally. i've only had this problem with the meta 1 pirate ships (apart from the corvettes, which work for some reason) so it may be to do with the ship files
