A Question...

Post by zero-saber »

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I've done a search of the forums and can't find it anywhere.

I understand that you can change between running in a window and running fullscreen, but is there any way to run the game lower than 1024x768 resolution? It would run a little faster on my machine that way, and I have to use an older monitor at the moment since my current, larger-size monitor is broken, and 800x600 would work better.

If there's no way to do that, it's fine, I can still play the game (and I will do so often. It's awesome!) I just wonder if I can make it run a bit faster.

Yes, I have turned off surfaces and changed other such performance-enhancing settings.

Also, just wanted to say again this game is awesome. Pretty much exactly what I've been looking for in a space sim/rts type game.

as far as I know, there is no way to do that. If you want more performance, try closing background tasks too. (anti virus/ anti-spyware, anything else with an icon in the taskbar)

I'm pretty sure he knows that. One thing he might not know is that running the game in 16 bit colour mode instead of 32 bit results in quite a bit less lag as well. A fairly noticable amount. But I'm not aware of any way to run the game in a lower resolution, no.

Thanks Seraph! I'll try the 16-bit mode. Also, what about the ship maker? When I start that up all I see is a tiny corner of the screen.
