Shipmaker Problem

Now I am fairly new to BSF, and have therefore combed the forum as much as I can before posting this but this appears to be an unanswered/encountered problem. I had installed the latest version of this on two computers (both PC), I had first played this on my weaker XP computer, and besides the slowdown in large fights had no problems, I even created a few nice ships using the ship maker. However when I tried to play this on my more powerful Vista computers, I encountered a serious problem on the shipmaker thatmakes it it unusable. It starts up fine, the display is the same and the controls all work, and I can spawn all the segments/weapons. However when I move the mouse to try to place those pieces they go flying off the top left of my screen, and any pieces I place after that wind up in the same place (before I even move mouse). I checked the edit screen for the segments and it came up with insane coordinates well out of range of the entire shipmaker build-area (So I can't reach them/see them again).
(Shortened) Any piece I attempt to move in shipmaker relocates somewhere far off the top left of the screen where I can't even reach it. Each piece spawned afterwards automatically does the same (including the core).
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Props for checking before you ask.
Hm... I can't help much, but I have had the same problem, to a lesser degree. Props will sometimes spawn way off the top of the screen, I usually undo and respawn them. But, if it's doing this consistently, I have no clue. My layman's fix would be to build your ships on XP, then bring them over to your Vista compy to play with them. Or, if you're patient, you could shift-arrow them all the way back down. That's a possibility, but is by no means realistic.

Try not to move the window or make it fullscreen, that can cause problems.

Well I haven't been moving the window, though I did enlarge it at one point... Part of problem I guess may be that I use a large HD TV for a monitor, I can't run BSF in full screen because of that, however I don't see how that would affect positioning in Shipmaker, but its all I can think of.
One other thing, I can tell when I'm moving really fast and the cursor starts to appear, that its locking on one position about 1/2 the way to top left corner of the screen, movement in any direction results in it pulling back to that spot... This is only when I am moving a part though, otherwise the cursor moves normally.

IIRC I had this problem too.
Do you boot up the sandbox from the shipmaker?
Because that was giving me lots of problems a while back.

It does affect the program because it uses screen mouse screen positions (the position of the mouse on the monitor itself) to control the position of the mouse.

I've encountered this on my schools computers [I did a gamemakre course so

]
When a GM game is compiled up as a fullscreen game on one resolution of a computer, take the .exe to another computer and the mouse positions get crazy.
Rule of the thumb: Play it in windowed.

Edited: I was wrong
Okay, its worse than what I thought (That it was placing pieces on control panel). Whenever I move my mouse it recognizes that movement as going upwards and leftwards really really fast. The more I move the mouse in any direction, the more it goes in that direction. (By really fast I mean by tapping the mouse lightly it went up and left 500 units). I still have less than no idea how to fix this, I am only aware that the cursor appears to lock in on a spot whenever I start to move a piece and always comes back to that spot no matter what direction I go until I drop the piece. I really hope someone can figure this out...

Do you have a Logitech mouse? if so, get the SetPoint software, and set up manual mouse DPI for the shipmaker.exe file.
