What about, a function that lets you make custom sections and the sections can be saved into the ship files?

Not currently in the Shipbuilder, and I doubt it will be added in the future.

There is, however, a section submission thread in this forum. Whether Sean will include them in any later builds, however, is unknown.

Already suggested oh-so-many times. th15 says it won't happen.

He never gave a definite answer, as I can recall. He merely ummed and ahhed and said he might or might not.

Actually, I seem to recall a fairly definitive answer that he gave, being somethng along the lines of "I may, but I probably won't, so don't count on it."

Custom importing new sections, however, is never going to happen, I recall.

Actually, I think that with a LOT of repetition and section (not forgetting colour) combinations, you should be able to get any shape and feel you like with the 26 sections already given to you.

Just look at some of those mega-uber-wank ships floating around the Custom Ship forums...
