Bubble shields (looking for advice on 'em- anti beams?)

I don't really have a bubbleshield myself. Thats the problem. I've broken my head over it almost a dozen times, so now I'm just asking:

How the hell do you people do it?

I made a "Ripper field", essentially a Particle Laser with 360 deviation and a clip and burst. In other words, its more like an impedeter

Or you could also use the method of stretching sections to the point of practical invisibility, parent them to hull sections (and leave them floating in space), and place an equivalent number of deflectors on the main ship itself...all stacked up.

Problem is, those deflectors will shut down after a while, and not all at once. That just doesn't have the feel of a real shield bubble. Gravitic impeders come closest.

Especially now with the capabilities of SM3. It practically becomes a bullet crusher.
