I just found my wireless mouse again after months of using an old wired one. I would much rather replace the batteries every few months than have to pull on a cord to get my mouse to reach my hand several times every day. I've got so much crap on my desk that wires tend to get hung up on things, even if you completely free them up.
Also, if you're unlucky enough to have your batteries completely die in the middle of a game, you have two problems.
1. You need a mouse that displays a "low battery" warning.
2. You need to realize that it's just one game. If you're actually playing a FPS, chances are, you'll play more than one game daily.
