HOTKEYS FOR MODULES

Post by AllStarZ »

Can there be hotkeys for modules? Frankly they're too hard to select for most part, and pressing m to scroll through the list is time consuming.

Just select the modules and ctl+#. Then hit # again to select it.

Won't work too well with multiple ships.

You have multiple numbers to choose from, so it works fine. If you have more than 10 modules that need to be manually activated, you need a more manageable fleet.

Pressing the middle mouse button with the ship selected activates it's modules too. Only works with some modules though.

I've got a laptop too. Usually pressing both buttons at the same time works. Usually.

Other than that, get a mouse. Dollar store.

What happens if I want to activate just this one deflector, out of like six.

Or you could buy a wired mouse and save 20 bucks.

Plus wasted time and effort on wonky batteries that die at the most inopportune moments. Someone shows up on screen whilst you're playing an FPS? BATTERIES DIE. YOU DIE. Need to do some precise positioning using the mouse? BATTERIES DIE. YOU FAIL.

etc.

1. Buy durable batteries
2. Buy recargeable batteries with a decent capacity
3. Coincidence? Anyone?

There is also such a thing as a 'rechargeable Mouse', plus you won't suffer from Oh No's if you put GOOD batteries in it.

1. I did.
2. Did that too.
3. Yeah, but after a few coincidences it starts to get annoying. I'll stick with wires until there's a reliable method that won't involve microwaving my hand. ;)

I actually had about four sets of batteries, for a total of eight. Two in the mouse, two in the charger, and four spares, no mixing and matching between pairs or anything. It doesn't change the fact I kept having those annoying coincidences, and no matter the excuse to try and counter them, you really don't want them. Eventually it -will- piss you off, and I'm much happier now I'm back on a wired mouse.

The wired mouse is also a decent bit lighter without batteries or a pack, which is also nice. :)
