Does anyone actually use this type? I tried it once, thinking that it would just get the enemy ship's face and shoot, but instead it RAMMED them, destroying it and the enemy, and leaving me with one less ship. Shows how much I know. Is there a practical use for this type of ship?

Generally it's better to ram an enemy than to blow up next to YOUR ships. If you're talking about setting it to Kamikaze in Shipmaker, that's a different story. Kinetic missiles are fun but not too practical, but selecting a dying ship in game and hitting [Ctrl] + [K] is.

No y.

There's a practical use and it's called kinetic missiles. Other than that, you might want to use it if your ship has no guns left to attack the enemy with.

I use it for kinetic missiles, and "mines". Otherwise? I prefer to use my gunless ships as bait, so the enemies home in on them and my gunned ships can flank.

Kamikaze AI is useless. Period. Only fun if you wish to create ships which don't fight but use self-destruct in your enemy's face.

S'all good.

And yes, T-002, Kami does mean "god". It also means "spirit" and "divine", if I'm not mistaken. Japanese words can have more than one meaning, just like english words. In fact, two words in Japanese can be pronounced exactly the same, yet have a different meaning, and a different kanji to represent them.
