I was wondering about that.

I put PER SECOND at first, and then thought "measuring PER SECOND is different from anyway I've ever seen."

It does make sense given Beams, etc, with their sweeping properties. Exact predictiions of the damage a target will recieve from sweeping beam weapons will always be if-fy, but pretty close.

Thank you. *Entry Corrected*

Any other entries we can fix / make better?

Maybe something explaining what the statistics mean? Such as what a Turning rate of 3 would be, or how far a ship with speed 7 would move per frame/second?

Not to necrofy this thread but I have a question and I think this thread is the closest to the question.

Is there a way to see how much HP a section has in the game itself?

Hey...thanks a lot for that point.

I've been really too lazy to read the Manual.

Thank you Anarki.

However I don't think that is written in the manual.

Hmm...not sure.

But as you already know, I'm too lazy to read that.

I've read the directions on how to play Blockade. Do you have any hints on how to get a high score?
Make the most balanced fleet you can make. Make sure you destroy as many ships as possible and always collect the powerups. My best example is 1 patrol craft, 1 battleship and 2 destroyers. Make sure the civilians pas through the shortest and safest route, and practice.

An odd question, but exactly how many MB video card does BSF require?
I bought a new PC and none of my games, bar BSF, work.

Don't know Da Higg

Concentrate on killing the ships as they spawn instead of escorting the transports. But remember to keep some ships at the space station though.

Doesn't matter. My 128 mb graphics card can only handle 4mb it seems.

Errr, in theory BSF doesn't use more than 8mb of VRAM. I could be way off though.

But, there is a way to find out. Press F12 in the game then press enter when the dialogue pops up. Your computer will freeze for a while then it will tell you how much free VRAM you have. If there's lots left then you don't have to worry about BSF breaking it.

However, surfaced mode in the game hits on a different problem. It's affected by the maximum texture size the card can handle. This is usually 2048x2048 for most modern graphics cards (nvidia 8000 series). BSF in surfaced mode expects that your computer supports that. If your graphics card cannot support surfaces then the game will pop up an error dialogue and automatically switched to non-surfaced mode.

Battleships works fine, its all my other games that fail. But now I know that my comp can't handle anything above 8mb...

This baby needs an update with all the 0.90 shenanigans going about. Maybe this should be updated to cover the pre-0.90 stuff so we can get more people making basic ships and less scratching their heads.
