If he's a band of outcasts, they at least should have territory. Most other factions wouldn't recognize it though.
I recommend Ceaphocos as your home. I could make a map for you.
Also Necrontyr, this thread has become a general discussion of sorts. Care to change the title accordingly?

Why not create a hexagonal grid with each faction represented by a color? The larger the faction, the more hexes it gets. Each hex could represent a star and its planets or something like that. This will allw ease of understanding by adding other shapes like triangles and squares to represent things.

If done by system / hex index, it will not take long before the previous problem of map not having enough space / or map becoming too stuffed / non flexible appears.

The thing with that though is isn't as pretty. I like making pretty things.
Also, the entire jump node system is invalidated if we do that.

Well faction territory's are much bigger than single star systems. If we use the sector idea then we can still do that sorta thing but with squares not hexes

hmhm. I think everyone can make their own sector maps as they like... no probs with that, but grid aint as practical.

Agreed, the grids are too clunky. How about they be sections or segments around a galaxy, leaving plenty of space for other faction sectors.
