Inspired by Bluhman's piece. Has an '80s cheesy chrome-scifi' feel to it.

LOVE IT! Not goona touch it because it's that perfect :D

EDIT: Because the more I look at it, the more those antennas bug me.

Nice. ;)

I updated my post with the sorting options a little. I'm not sure how hard they would be to make but I'm sure the ship editor would benefit from them, especially if a lot of custom parts are added. Because quite frankly, who wants to spend five hours clicking through a list when you can pull up a sheet and select the part you want? :)

Nice football too. :roll:

Yes, i know there's another piece like this, but I just had this idea kicking around since I first saw the thread.

Is there a time limit to when we can submit parts? I can't work on one for another 6 hours :(.

I don't think so. I think they'll likely go into SM 3.0, but I'm not th15, aka The Dev. :)

I doubt it too. 3.0 is probably a little way away yet, and I'm sure it's more a case of ongoing submission, not a short "competition" like thing. If it was, I think someone's already stolen the gold medal. :P

I'm making mine in Paint and saving it as a gif, is it normal for there to be a bunch of black dots all over it, or am I doing something wrong?

www.irfanview.com is what I use to save GIFs. MSPaint's GIF converter is wowsy ;)

EDIT: Oi vey, what's with the typos lately!?

I think you want Irfanview thar. :P

I'm using the GIMP, myself. Paint sucks.

My first submission, a central fuel tank block;

Will make some external fuel pods in a moment. :)

Thanks! I love adding detail to things, and spotting details on things others have made. :)

Another one, an external, compartmented fuel tank;

Image

I might make some tweaks to it later. Be nice if it could be made to explode violently, eh? ;)

The first line of pixels on each pipeline is designed to be overlapped onto other sections so that the "arms" meet the hull of the ship. It's intentional. :)

Geez, you people are making regular works of art.

I feel inadequate somehow.

That's a cool one! It's not bad at all. Very true to the BSF Style.

Ooh, nice hull plate! Perfect emulation of the BSF style too.

Updated the central fuel tank. I realised I had (erroneously) made it an uneven width, when most parts have even widths. This has been fixed. Also the backgrounds have been filled in, as black I assume is the transparency colour, and the template only has white/dark grey/black as colours.
