Well seeing how I like spriting and all, I started making sections for ships of mine.. and seeing how some other people might find thise usefull aswell, I just thought I could post them up here aswell.

My section back currently contains 22 sprites, I've made them during times and times, they basicly get better a bit the further I go.. Please note that some of the older ones are bit bigger then 80 x 80.

15 - 22 are the most recent ones.

Update;

23 - 38 are the newest ones, previews of them located on second post.

Preview from the folder itself;

I have half a mind to make that ball and chain a custom sprite and use in as a Thruster Module's sprite with negative stats (or maybe as a ThrusterEx's exhaust sprite with negative stats) so it looks like the ball and chain are slowing down the ship; when they get destroyed, the ship speeds up.

ZOMG you can do that?
Maybe that's how Nagaya's ship worked...
Must... Try... Out...

And now for something completely different;

I call it HS, take it as High Shades, High Star, High Shit or any other HS combination.

Anyway, I started on this actually about a month ago but forgot to continue on it, so I digged it up today and made wing/armory part on the right corner and the skull piece on the second row as you might notice from the quality jump.

So feedback on thise? Should I remake the older parts a bit more as in the stuff inside the 7 first boxes?

Oh and before anyone wonders, yes, thise do color quite well, however you can't really make them all bright unless you add glow, but then again I don't see why anyone would want eye hurting brightness eitherway.

Whilst those parts are completely sound sprite work I'd have to say that I think it would be a waste of effort to make any more sections in that style unless you personally have a specific intended purpose for them. I say this because they aren't even remotely similar to any existing style, which profoundly limits their usability.

Missiles are fine though, people always need missiles.

But wouldn't having very little sections limit this style even further? :|
It would still be waste of effort to stop too early.

Oh and talking about missiles..

Some mini ones.

If you made a lot of them they could be useful, but they leave me wondering how well they'd layer. Might be fine. We'll need enough of them to know.

How big is Heg_06? It touches the outer border--which isn't good.

In the meantime, the HS pack (How bout HOLY S____!?!) looks very, very sexy. I do agree with the others--either the style has to blend in, or you have to have enough pieces to make a ship out of, both of which are hard to attain.

Keep up the good work

I'm aiming to make fairly over hundred of thise, converting some of the ioriginal stock sections aswell.
Only thing I'm worried about is running out of ideas.

Heg_06 is just huge, and old. Its pretty un usable expect for filling some holes.

And as I said earlier, I'm aiming for fairly over a hundred parts so I think it will be rather useable in the end.

Small update;

That's a cool style, reminds me of old school games like Radian. Would be rather neat to see an entire selection of sprites go into this format so we can have another look to play around with.

Base, "Ship Wright" and "Hege's Style"!

I was just going to say that the HS style could probably fit with SW's. But one will never know.

Remember SW have the solid black outline, its almost like cell shading, while these are more rendered. Then might fit, but it would be hard to make them look like they are supposed to be fitted together without outlines on the HS sprites.
