*opens codex of forbidden lore* Ah, yes... It is prophetized that when TSA and Kaelis' handwork is combined to form a groundbreaking new fleet, all jaws on the planet shall drop to the floor in unison and herald the coming of a new master... *closes book ominously, stares at people present*

I think some of the steampunk would also be awesome like this, so if you're taking recommendations, that would be mine.

Steampunk is really the natural way to go,the mecha pack and the steampunk are probably your two most popular packs.

Then again,kae_generic could be a better path.

I would hope kae_generic and/or kae_steampunk

Steampunk, Generic, Detail, and Small. Not necessarily in that order, but it is roughly largest to smallest.

Ed: Unfortunately for the maximum effect we'd need pretty much everyone to get on the bandwagon or else give permission for others to convert their sections.

This modified Valkyrie just looks a bit weird right now. :?

Quickie with the new sections. There's obviously tons of potential here, especially for us who like to draw new sections ourselves.

Thanks for the hard work, Kaelis.

I must say that I think these sections should become the norm. BSF was always based off the Warning Forever style, but its become much more then a simple imitator. It needs its own style and simply recoloring and actually shading/depthing the standard pieces could do that. Its actually hard to build something that looks bad with these things; even the most simple of ships look amazing. I mean, look at Cycerin's ship above me. Its not very complex but its still awesome.
I mean honestly, just compare the ships

Wow, this might change the game forever, they seem to recolor well, no?

edit : Look what a newbie like me can make in a few minutes!
Image

But if it's this easy to make decent looking ships, wouldn't that then be far harder to tell when a ship is good or bad?

Nah, we'll all just adapt. But it will be easier to make good ships, which is a good thing. One of the things that turns so many people off about this game, myself included, is that it seems only a few people can actually make good things. These forums are pretty cut throat, with a few good builders usually looking down their nose at everything and everyone else. With these pieces people can make things that look awesome without having to be completely obsessive over it.

Besides, if you are clever it's easy to raise the bar far above stuff like this.
