an un-named hoard of ships

well, im still around building every now and again, thought i'd upload things again for some more advice and opinions


the first ship i made, re-uploaded it because it fits in with the rest


supposed to be a small scout ship, but thats as small as i could make it without exposing the core.


i made this to mess around with mine laying, the claw at the front is a torpedo launcher modified to drop mines.


just made this one, it has a mega beam and 2 shock beams, so i guess its a beam cruiser/corvette/frigate (i don't know the size of the classes lol)

i guess its becoming some kinda faction lol, but i guess its missing the bigger classes of ships for now =/

hmm, i think i'll work on making this a faction for the DGW now.

my ships don't really seem alien like, so i'll make them low tech - but after my last attempt i'll stick to the laser wars data until i get a grasp of the balancing

They are begging for a splash of colour other than those doodads and be careful using SW style weapons (the small ones don't matter as much).

i know... i REALLY need to figure out how to do colour shading right >.<

so for now im building the metal chunks first and i'll splash on the colour when i know how

Coloring is pretty simple, just take the color you want and make it as dull as possible while still retaining a distinctive pigment. Complement that with other colors, doodads, or glows and you're set.

I can't, to save my life, build a ship right now. Kinda like writer's block. Kill me.

hmm, well i never *intend* to build anything, i just pick a pretty much random starting piece and then build whatever fits around it, then stick a core like bit on the top. lol.
if its concepts you're lacking im curious to see if some kinda ghost ship would work in shiny sections, but i don't yet know how to give it the whole 'ghostly' look and have the glows and stuff, and it'd be something a bit different from the other ships posted recently

Ghost ship? I tried to make something of a "stained glass" ship but it turned into this

cool, if i tried to use a ship with that many GIFs on my laptop BSF would probably crash xD

i mean like... some kinda sinister looking ship, a bit wreck like and rough, but with some cool ghost like glows and maybe see-through sections.

too bad "THE SECRET" doesn't work any more, or we could have ghost sections
