Re: Elements of Discord
Just a couple projectiles that fire from the moving spots. There are two arrays of four missiles as its main armament. I may add a beam cannon or something later.

Re: Elements of Discord
The Treachery looks badass. I'd stick sidewinders and possibly curving tachyons on it.

Re: Elements of Discord
I'll look at the weapons again and choose something more erratic in behavior. Probably tachyons.
The IT ships were very good practice. If nothing else, they are a great exercise on section use. I start using sections differently now that I forced myself to complete them. I also see more things that a particular section could represent than before.Doogie12 wrote:You've definitely improved.

These look fantastic, especially Treachery. If you want, I could help you implement the toggleable cloak on Deceit.

Re: Elements of Discord
Ok, but it has to be able to be used by the AI. Since it has to be reduced in size appearance when fighting the ponies.

/\ Just put it on a timer to phase in and out automatically, then its like the cloak has to recharge after being active for a period of time.

Re: Elements of Discord
Unfortunately, the AI can't use triggers, which is going to be a problem.
(Also, it can't hide doodads and fake aegis glows sadly)

Re: Elements of Discord
AI's can operate on section movement boundary triggers though can't they? Or is it different for section fades?

Re: Elements of Discord
The game won't treat it differently. I will simply remove the doodads (glowballs, but not blinkfaders) on the fading sections and put them on timers. I'll time them to be a fairly attractive cascade fading look. I know how to make fading work on a button press, but the objective is to have the effect utilized by the AI, which is a pain in the ass.

Re: Elements of Discord
Currently working on Disjunction.
Idea behind the name is here
I know that I want it to have three EMP torpedo launchers mounted on different facings, so that the error message does not occur for repeated hits.
Currently at a standstill in the idea department of which will be more badass.
Ship Color: Red, indigo, or crimson
Mechanical Color: If not silver, then Red, indigo, or crimson (cannot be the same as the primary).
Weapons: I am thinking projectiles, however using missiles with projectile sprites to create the appearance of seeking
projectiles is looking more appealing. (No interceptability or explosion radius though). A missile weapon that leaves no trail would be best.
Secondary Weapons: Smaller versions of the primary weapons.
Tertiary Weapons: If any, smaller versions of the secondary weapons.
Shape and section flow: Unsure as to go with an industrial look like the Cruelty or a smooth look like the Mourning. A smooth look with industrial bits jutting out or exposed is looking promising. Currently working with a four pronged fork shape (core at the junction), but that may be discarded.
On a side note, the name chosen for the flagship will be Emnity. Meaning mutual hatred between two parties. It will work well enough.
Sorry Necrontyr. Thanks for the help though, some of your suggestions will be used in future villainous ships.
Emnity will be black, blue, red, and silver. It will use seeking projectiles and a "charging" trigger effect on a large beam cannon turret. It worked in simple tests, but creating it in a larger and more intricate scale will be a chore. However, I haven't seen it done before, so it should be promising. It will do 250 damage per frame for 4 frames. Reload time will be about 15 - 30 seconds. It's a unique flagship and the ponies have shields in the 1000's, so it seems fair. I"ll look it over again after combat tests.

Re: Elements of Discord
EoD Disjunction is nearing completion, just needs weapons and stats.
The two wings are actually limited arc range turrets as well.
Comments and critique welcome
The large silver round section will most likely mount a single weapon or turret. The two wings are actually limited arc range turrets as well.

Re: Elements of Discord
Working on Emnity. Currently designing the main battle turrets. Which one is the best? (I like the left turret)

Re: Elements of Discord
hmmmm I like the third turret on the right for realism. still all 3 as a whole are amazing.
Re: Elements of Discord
I'd rather see the style of the ship before I can make a decision. The top one is more alien-ish.
All three are nice, but something irks me on the one on the right. Not sure what about it though.

This is the ship. There are four hard points on it for turrets.Doogie12 wrote:I'd rather see the style of the ship before I can make a decision.
EoD Emnity (Holy Cross Shape) Comments and critique also welcome. Also for EoD Disjunction, which can hold one turret.
