The green on that ship has nothing to do with your screen. It's actually an optical illusion that occurs when in the presence of a neighboring color.-Desert- wrote:Wow. 'Nuff said. These are amazing just to look at, especially the animated one.
@Necrontyr: That would mean my laptop's screen is buggy too, and it's a year old. You can see the green if you look very hard, but on first sight you don't see it

Aargh, that's unfair! How could we ever know if you hadn't told us? xD
Quite frankly I wonder why I ever began making ships for this. You see, my work never becomes quite as good as I feel it deserves to.

Not so much, I did just get addicted to Skyrim.Necrontyr1998 wrote:Makes sence to me....

But here's a nice in-game screenshot of the awesome beam array the new ship has.

Re: To steal Netharis' thunder
I can see two yellow beams (probably those miningbeams) and a fusion beam (which rocks btw). That last thing looks like a tesla in yellow.
Is the above what you used? (spritewise at least)

Re: To steal Netharis' thunder
It looks like the thing to use for roasting giant space monsters, and it will probably cut through any non-shielded sections like a white-hot chainsaw through butter. If I were a ship captain, I'd stay far away from that.

Behold the Death of Germanicus. Named after one of my favorite paintings.
No weapons yet, naturally. May convert it to Starsector. I wanted a much more subtle, yet badass, piece of glory.
Give me your thoughts.

My first thought was "why the fuck is he using filesmelt as an image host? It's shit for that."
I guess it looks alright otherwise. I like the plating at the front of it. The rest of it doesn't really do anything for me, though.

^Because campus WiFi has paranoid filters.
I must admit that I feel really out of practice, and I'm not really liking this ship's outcome as much as I have with others (although I love those fuel tanks). Maybe this will fit as a Starsector ship a little better.

Re: To steal Netharis' thunder
So I did make it Starsector, but I'd like some objective opinions (those guys are sickly positive). What do you guys think?

I saw your post in the starsector forums. I have the same opinion as those guys there, it fits.
Oh so that's the sprite you use for turrets. What about hardpoints?

Re: To steal Netharis' thunder
Filesmelt takes an unusually long time to show pictures with me, while other hosts will instantly work.
(it's not my connection)
Stupid filters.
Offtopic: My school prevents us from downloading anything with .exe, but that's easier to overcome as you can simply bring a flash drive/USB stick with stuff on there.
