Let's face it, the main attraction of BSF is building your own ships. Share them! If you need help, check the Shipmaker Info & Help forum a little ways down.
I've had this idea for about a month now. It is a beauty pageant-type event, although much smaller. Focusing on the details
Rules
Spoiler!
Anyone can enter their ship.
Users submit a ship using only 25 sections or less.
Only one ship per user and it must have a name by which to be identified.
The ship must have a screenshot and sb4 file. The sections will be counted. An in game screenshot if the ship has special features is allowed in addition to the primary screenshot.
After some time (3 days, it's only 25 sections), I will make an announcement to begin voting. Users then PM me to vote for which ship should receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. (Votes will be confidential)
The 1st place vote will get 3 points, 2nd will get 2, and 3rd will get 1.
Anyone can vote.
Voting will last for 2 days. Results will be posted here.
Ships will be scored by the points that they receive. Highest score wins, second highest gets second place, third highest gets third place. Other results will not be revealed.
The only restriction on voting is that you cannot vote for your own ship in any way and can only vote once. (Sportsmanship)

You may also use modules as long as they don't require special sprites.
Also, no critiquing until the event is over.
The main purpose is to give users something small to do and could become a monthly or weekly event if it's popular enough.
Good luck everyone. Let's see what we all can do with only twenty five sections.

I stop in from time to time to check in on the community. Though I don't spend much time with shipmaker anymore.

Good shipbuilders never die . . . they just fade away.
Ten sections is really nowhere near enough for people to be able to make anything really interesting or distinctive. If you can use ten sections on one side and then mirror it, that's one thing, but ten sections total? I doubt it'll result in anything particularly interesting.

There are no limits to the number of doodads, weapons, or modules. You may use as many as you'd like.
However, the doodads list is provided by the ini file above. There's about 25 or so doodads in it.

Here is my entry to the 25 section beauty pageant. It should work. I used the Fighterbay update. You'll probably need that too.
The Brackenfur-Class Cruiser.
Used by the Thunderclan, the Brackenfur is a dependable ship in their fleet. Sporting 2x twin flak cannons, a gatling pulse, and their signature pulse beam, it can take down mid-sized ships, even bigger than itself.
Number of sections: 24
Number of weapons: 4
Number of modules: 0

This is the end of the first day, two more until voting begins. If there are no other entries, the Brackenfur will be declared the winner by default and voting will be skipped.

The infamous Damnos-class destroyer was lovingly named 'Pariah' by her last bounty-hunter Captain 'Loderek Draknel'. She was originally built on the 'Gron' forge-world but was stolen by pirates fresh off the production line. When 'Draknel' caught the pirates responsible he used their bounty's to keep the ship and its been watching over the sector ever since.
