They say some of the old Netlon Triads managed to survive the big Huo Hsing dragnet of 3084, locking themselves away in some dark po-dunk corner of the Arm, just beyond the reach of the slick FTL data-highways of the Bit Wake. Isolated from the unfiltered info force-feed of mankind, they've trapped themselves in a kind of time warp, silently hoarding their vast spoils from the days when they still crawled the star lanes of the Outer Arm and sowed fear everywhere they went. They say it's a strange existence, years of dead-silent contemplation and the crystallized memories of glory.
Even without the Wake trace, the Triads have still got to worry about your run-of-the-mill "Freelancer" duffers who go about spelunking exactly the kind of shithole they inhabit. Rumors abound of "Netlon Sentinels" creeping out of asteroid belts and nebulae, determined to carve plentiful new assholes into any young idiot thinking of taking a shot at the legendary Triads' hoards. Hand-crafted from a cutting-edge assortment of high-end civilian and surplus military hardware, the Sentinels were essentially built to be time-proof, hardened against the slow technological light lag associated with extended separation from the Wake.
The contrasting bright violets and dull brown colors look good together. There is even a slight amount of asymmetry in the tips of the center pair of "fangs". Judging by the description, it'll bite.
I stop in from time to time to check in on the community. Though I don't spend much time with shipmaker anymore.
