I would say that jumpgates would be used to actually go between system to system. It's not like they can fly that far without dying of old age.

I still want to not allow a ship to have a gate built within it. After all, the movie "Event Horizon" (a "B" horror movie) made a good point.

However, I am working on a ship that carries and deploys a jump gate. It should work, since the ship cannot use its own gate to travel.

In freespace they use Jump Nodes
but a Gate wouldn't hurt don't it? so i guess some of us will start building a Jump gate.

I would like to politely request that someone test these ships against theirs for balances. They are intended to be faster, but lighter armored than most other faction's shipss

Well I've tested them already, but I wouldn't exactly call them lightly armoured.

They got less health than other faction ships. (From Doogie12's laser wars spreadsheet). I guess the undercarriages on the larger ones would make up for it.

Damn, this was supposed to go to the ships and idead thread, oh well.

It's fairly large (133), but its HP will be very low, about 250.

Try Pacifist since it doesn't fight

I finished it in the other thread. I chose to name it Helios after the greek god of the sun, since HG is the "light" apparently.
It can fight, though not very well. Took over 50% damage against 5 of the pirates (enemy 1) in the sandbox test, losing one of its gun wings in the process.

I'll move everything over to the new area after I finish working on redesigning the fleet.
My lack of experience shows in some of the earlier ships.
