Hey does anyone here know how to make a star chart?
If yes this is just a request.
make a star chart (i wish horsemonster would do this though). the 3 default factions from the laser wars are still here.
My faction is still blue with the name GTNA and don't change the territory size of GTNA though (Due to rebelling of nationalist wishing to cleanse the corrupt).

I was going to make some star map but then I took space arrow to the knee. I suppose you can guess what I ended up doing.

I can't do one quite that well, but I'll try. It'll be useful for my upcoming project.
Also, can you please put your threads under the relevant topics? After all, it doesn't look like these forums are too heavily moderated anymore.

Sure, i can try since i have adobe creative suite 5.5. If i can't, i can download and prepare a free one from the internet for your personal use. What constellation did you want in the center. Since you live in Japan, you're sky is slightly different than mine here in the US.

I didn't give enough of a crap to make what you said, however, I am willing to supply this completely blank version.

( o. o) Veeery interesting. Ratai color will be white or very light blue. While it does not have standing territories, it could be represented by fleet icons. Least part of the Ratai fleet is at the current withing miora space due to passage granted by Miora - the rear guard fleet is several systems behind the main fleet.

I guess I need Doogie to pick his systems before I can add my icons there - assuming we use this map for war for the universe thingy.

There is already a map with the Miora Colonies on it. It is somewhere in the original War for the Universe thread. I am currently editing the blank maps with all the planet names.

the nirvana and nova will have the name GTNA cause they are united after the events of the darkness

I have some ideas for rearranging the starmap, I''ll put them up shortly.
EDIT: My very hastily done concept, please excuse the horrible paintjob:
Mappan2proto.png
This is just to demonstrate the rough ideas of relative faction placement, so individual system layout isn't done yet.. The main change is swapping the positions of the SAR and GORE to allow for a more direct confrontation between the SAR and MC. The TSE/Nova have also been moved out of the corner for more access to the other factions. I'm leaving the Nirvana seperate for now for a clearer view of their relative location. Ratai don't hold any territory, but their approach vector to the area is shown. Sector naming and placement shouldn't have much change at all.
The Darkness scout is the force that the Nova and Nirvana faced and defeated as mentioned in their faction blurbs. My concept is that it's not really a scout, but rather a semi-independent force that was cut off from the main Darkness fleet and ended up well ahead of them for some reason (I'm thinking jump accident). It's small, 1-2 capital ships + escort, capable of threatening the Nova and Nirvana thanks to their tech advantage, but still defeatable.
Does this arrangement work?

Bump for the REALLY EARLY PROTOTYPE faction arrangement concept.

I could forge the fleet icons to indicate ratai and darkness movement.

This idea seems pretty much good. darkness however barely do mistakes, so perhaps the force nirvana and nova encountered was just attempt to outflank ratai in race that has been going on for almost 200 years. After all, ratai fleets themselves have split many times over course of time. The current 26000 ship strong fleet is mere fraction from the original core fleet that was forced to spread out in order to survive as Darkness caught up with it. The current location of original migrant fleet is unknown and most likely this armada will never reunite with its parent fleet - therefore moving independently with its only goal to survive.

Ratai civilian fleet takes currently refuge in miora space while forward fleet in probing acces points to SAR space - not pushing through yet however before it is absolutely certain diplomatic options fail and fleet is ready for push. Appearance of darkness of course will eventually change this - and turn Ratai into far more aggressive approach. They don't want to get caught between two enemies with pretty much all their specie at stake... Or least the part of it they certainly still know to exist.

Guardian fleet is roughly five systems behind the last line of civilian ships.

Bueno?
