Someone knows how to make a star chart?

New suggestion

With a sudden burst of new factions joining this thing, we might have to make new kind of map - cause the current one will definately run out of space. Instead of making whole map, we each can do "sectors" where star systems belonging to faction are and where several jump point out of that sector exist. Some might lead towards other faction space, some towards empty space - to give space for new factions that might join up. Also few empty / independent sectors could be added too as possible staging areas if we ever run any battle simulations.

Now these sectors would exists on rough "whole map" where instead of star systems, only relative position of different sectors is represented (like the rough drawing Calvin made, but moar pretty). This would solve the problem of running out of space, as the sector map can be expanded great deal more than defined map. (and is waaaay easier to make). Got the idea?

Why not a hexagon grid with each faction represented by a color. One hex can represent one solar system of planets or something.

Grabbed the blank mappen, came up with this so far:

Not yet finished

Capital system text is largest and gets smaller the less important the system is.
Added a few blueish dust clouds for effect
Will add sector name at the top of the map
Font is 'Quartz'.

Any other ideas?

That's a pretty big chunk-- you should look at the original one or rather make your own.

Here's mine, since apparantly we're expanding ourselves as well.

It's really not hard to do some basic photoshop action. If you guys want me to make a similar chart for your faction, I'll do it, but it'll take time.

Ah, I could do something similar to this. I'll cut down the one I've done and add a glow around the territory.

Go for it. I may add Mioran fleets there too. Although there's really only three of them.
