I do. I enter all the RGB values by hand.

First color palette (0, 0, 250) and decreases by (0, 0, 25) per step of depth (10 steps)
Second color palette (0, 50, 250) and decreases by (0, 5, 25) per step of depth (10 steps)
Third color palette (45, 90, 225) and decreases by (5, 10, 25) per step of depth (9 steps)
Fourth color palette (45, 135, 225) and decreases by (5, 15, 25) per step of depth (9 steps)

This one (fifth color palette) starts at (45, 135, 180) and decreases by (5, 15, 25) per step of depth. (9 steps)

The next planned color change (if necessary) will be (50, 150, 200) and will decrease by (5, 15, 20) per step of depth. (10 steps)

Then I will say "forget the colors: and go with greys (240, 240, 240) and will decrease by (30, 30, 30) per step of depth. (8 steps)

Zalausai Edit: Coloring for the public to accept it has proven extremely difficult.

Look here. See the TSE ships? That blue. That is not violet, it is glorious, unsaturated, blue.

It looks like blue - blue/violet, but a nice color
What is the RGB value of the brightest shade?
I would like to use a color close to that then.

I have no idea whatsoever. I actually just use the slider on the custom palette. When it comes to coloring, go with trial and error. Saturation is your absolute worst enemy, avoid it at all costs. It's better to have more grey than not.

Zal, I don't know what your talking about with RGB values. don't you use the slider's?

Here's the palette with a nice un-saturated blue on it, dunno if you wanna use it or not but its just an example.

On the lower right of your screenshot, there are three values, red 95, green 107, blue 158. When choosing colors, I type the numbers by hand, for total control. I personally detest the sliders. I find them difficult to use, since my art classes advise against them, I never learned to use them.

Well, uh.. ( o. O)/ pick a shade of blue, drag it towards gray till you have color of your liking. Or... If you want to do this hard way then.. drag the slider lower by typing specific numbers... I have never used number combination, but if you have then you propably know how it works by now. Not sure what they teach in art class, but personally after having drawn for quite long time, slider has proven most easimost tool for colors. Rawr.

It really matters not what exact blue (Or other color) it is. Important is that you choose an color that does not raaaaeeep eyes. Too bright is never gud.

This ship is created for the sole purpose of showing the color palette before recoloring all of my ships to save time between colorings.

This is the latest Heaven"s Grace faction color scheme.

Not intended to be functional or pretty, but instead to show the intended colors for the rest of the fleet.

Got bored, went back to the basic sections, made a ship to relax to.

Ugly, but fun to watch.

Here is an alternative palette to the other one shown earlier. Let me know which one is better and that one will be used for the HG ships.

HG 7 Throne Has arrived for public scrutiny before going into the HG faction entry.

Note: To get the ship deployers to work, place the HG 4 Power's files in a folder named "HG Ships" located within the custom ships folder. (1 ship per full charge, but it has two deployers)

Carries and launches other ships (HG4 Power). Due to this ships bloated size (being full of fighters after all) it lacks the normally increased speed that other HG ships possess. It makes up for this by having extra weapons on all fronts and utilizes abundant amounts of ablative plating to create a six winged look (however stubby the wings may be).

Class: Battlecarrier, Heavy
Crew: 271 + 256 Pilots (1185 + 512 Pilots)
HP: 600
Speed: 2
Turning: 0.75
AI Range: 450 (Standard)
Accel: 0.1
Size: 128.76
Doodads: 35 (Doofullline x 34, Dooblinker x 1)

Weapons:

Particle Gun x 6
"Faith" Plasma Autocannon x 6
"Justice" Missile Battery x 2
"Azure" Laser Interceptor x 1
Fighter Bay x 4
Ship Deployer x 2 (HG 4 Power)
Warning: The doodads may cause seizures.

Well, in my opinion this is better than previous ships. I believe the HG faction has rather round ships instead of leghtly sticks like Raitai, so I don't see any major need to change position of some parts. More like if there is something I should critique, I would say it is the structure of the ship overall. It is very... Random, like punch of bits smashed together (like Anna once described my early ships.)

hmm..

This is more believeable ship than other however, so definately there has been improvement. Im interested in seeing how the fighters work.

Colour scheme is much better, but there's no flow on the outer sections - As Cryo mentioned, it just looks like a cludgepile of random bits. Definately needs reworking.
