The War for the Universe - Miora Colonies

Post by Doogie12 »

Miora Colonies
Spoiler!
The Miora colonies are the name given to the empire controlled by the planet Mior. Mior took to space early, allowing it to gain and control other planets quickly. Several revolutions and coup's later, they emerged as powerful empire. Recently, their governing council has enjoyed wild popularity and, as a result, an economic boom.
Mior's government is set up as a council of elected officials, all of whom usually come from a religious order, to rule and debate on issues and other crap government needs to do. The council is made up of 3 members from each Mioran planet.
Mioran battle tactics deal only in extremes; there is full on assault or no conflict. All attacks are performed using armadas of all types of ships. Warshjps are constantly in production, regardless of whether they are at war. Very rarely will Mior call on light attacks or raiding parties, rather, they would hire privateers to do the job. Mioran ships are elite and expensive, and are an absolute nightmare. Mior does not issue standard weapons, instead, each gun is customized specifically for the ship it is placed on to improve efficiency and maximize damage.

Note* I suck (read:hate) balancing and I'm pretty sure these are quite overpowered.
MC Steeple class
MC Steeple class

The steeple class is the lightest and fastest ship in the Mioran arsenal. It is not particularly efficient however, and is only used in flanking tactics.

Armament:
2x Particle Flare cannons
2x Jyutol Light Torpedo Rack

The lack of efficiency in the Steeple's speed and agility caused the adaptation of a police design to enter military production. The Adornment class specializes in flanking and swarming. The lack of torpedo bays greatly increases its engine capacity.

Armament:
3x Particle Flare cannons

The ribbed vault class is a sturdy and small ship commissioned to provide rear support. It has no battery weapons, and its attack force is solely long-range missiles. However, it can turn its point defense turret to attack enemy ships for light damage.

Armament:
6x Amrasye Missile launcher

Stats:
HP: 275

Mioran military officials realized that they had no direct assault ship smaller than a Minaret in production. Scientists slaved away, but finally created an sturdier version of the Ribbed Vault class, but armed with light particle cannons.

Armament:
4x Light Particle cannons

Stats:
HP: 275

The battlements class destroyer is the older model used by Mior. As it is quite easy to re-equip, researchers use battlements class ships to test out new weapons. Frontline use of battlements classes are being phased out by the newer and superior minaret class.

Armament varies, production ceased.
MC Redemption Pool class
MC Redemption Pool class

Mioran minaret class ships are the pinnacle of Mioran technology. Its size, speed, armament, and especially cost make this the obvious choice for the front lines. Composed purely of blasters, the minaret can effectively be used in most circumstances.

An arasaw is the Mioran word for the column/altar in the center of the great cathedral of Mior. Humans don't quite have a word for that type of structure. Arasaw class ships are the largest, toughest, and most powerful ships in the great Mioran navy. The arasaw class was designed to stand toe to toe with the SAR Maelstrom. The arasaw contains an array of particle weaponry, all specifically customized for maximum efficiency due to the unique design of the ships.

MC Ossuary Class
MC Ossuary Class
MC Ossuary.png (10.9 KiB) Viewed 6897 times
With the SAR stepping up its espionage activity, Mioran officials decided to create a stealth ship of their own. The ship has no active stealth arrays, but due to its "quiet" engines and other various technologies, only the most powerful sensors can locate this ship. It's sensor array is of top Mioran design and can locate cloaked ships as well.
Unique alloys allow this ship to move closer into the corona of stars than any other. Ossuary classes are used in minesweeping, counter-espionage, and espionage.

Armament:
1x Heavy Particle cannon
2x Defensive Particle Flare cannons

SO
MANY
TRIANGLES

Pretty awesome ships, though.

What is the maximum damage any one weapon on the Arasaw can deal in a single hit?

Oooohhhh shiny. I'm a fan of your contributions to the field of space triangles. Even if they are intended to blow up my own space triangles.

(Yes robots, there must be MORE SPACE TRIANGLES.)

And is there any possibility of downloads?

Yes, but balance needs to come first. Also, the Arasaw isn't even armed.

No surprise there. The Tempest is much smaller than the Gargoyle (115ish compared to 150 size) and is kinda sucky against large ships anyway.

These look amazing, even when considering they're all triangular. For some reason, the similar shapes don't get boring. Instead, it looks greater than 80% of ships posted in here (Green bricks anyone :P)
Now working on those nice needle beamers. Beware!

Fantastic looking stuff, the level of detailing is simply beautiful, you've done a lot with some triangles :)

Civilians and Pirates,
since pirates would use the same ships as civilians.

I actually like the look of these new ships quite alot. Duuwnload? Also, I tried to use your previous ships, but they were missing some "particles" ~(o. O)~

Whats the stuff you use?

You're probably missing some doodads or something. I tend to use a lot of older, less popular stuff when I add glows. I should get around to packaging a sprite download sometime.
In the meantime, I revamped the Cepheus Freightor and added the Cepheus Miner.

I think I preferred the older colour scheme. That neon green looks out of place.
