War for the Universe - SAR ships

Let's face it, the main attraction of BSF is building your own ships. Share them! If you need help, check the Shipmaker Info & Help forum a little ways down.

Well, turns out the problem with the OP was with the Stormhammer's pic. It's been updated, though the Stormhammer's pic is still broken.

Alright, I just edited the faction description and some of the ship descriptions as well. Maelstrom's redesignated as a battleship and not a Dreadnought.

Was it not BB before (o. O )? I mean least the name had (BB01) on it.

It was, but was always referred to as a dreadnought.

Calvin, that ECM array is by far the cheapest thing I've ever seen. Like, the Deep Winter beats 3 Moloch X's in open combat.

I never actually figured out how to do that, care to explain?

There's small invisible sections placed way out, parented to a small rotating bit under the hull so the whole thing rotates.
And yes, it's horrendously OP. IIRC without that thing, Deep Winter loses to an Arawsaw (but deals heavy damage) but with that on, it's a one-sided curbstomp.

i am in love with your ships. i am having some trouble with getting malastrom, deep winter and 1 or 2 others to work, i have fixed similar problems on other ships by deleting specific weapons or components with a variable that was messing it up. anyone got an idea to why that's happening? also, 3 things i would love to see are sb4 files, a post telling how that stealth system works, and some form of point defense. i recognize that ecm is a form of point defense, however i think you should try a system of modified flack guns with a huge deviation and fuse variance and a high rof to create a flack screen, it would look real cool to have a bunch of blue-white energy flack bursts (matching your laser's color scheme) intercepting missiles and small enemy ships (if done with similarly modified repeating artillery or auto cannons.) sorry if my post is a bit long winded.

This is not the latest version. Check the DGW faction database for the most recent.

To be honest, there havent been any changes between the latest version in this thread and in the DGW thread. I'm still working on version 1.3.
Delta: What's the error messages?
About PD, I'm considering introducing rocket PD and/or flare guns. Simple flack doesn't seem like it'd fit these guys, especially since explosion sprites can't be changed AFAIK.

Your missiles are still as OP as hell Calvin.
Why not use PD laser since yours are highly advanced tech faction.

The PD laser feels underwhelming. It's just anticlimatic with the little zappy laser it creates. Besides, I want to try out new things.

The missiles are not overpowered, they're high end. You gotta factor cost and production numbers when considering. The SAR make up the higher end of the scale of acceptable ranges in DGW.

Well, they actually have a pretty big fleet. It's just that, being warmongering assholes, they've gotten themselves stuck in big multi-front wars (and suppressing internal rebellions) and are really unable to use their advantages to any significant amount.
