So gais.

Let's face it, the main attraction of BSF is building your own ships. Share them! If you need help, check the Shipmaker Info & Help forum a little ways down.

So gais.

I made some ships, have a look!

Bunch of ships I made like a month ago and posted on IRC but not here:

And these ones are just as old but people kept complaining about my green color scheme. :(

And some things I threw together today. :D

Image
This one's a bit "out there", a sensor ship or some such shit.

Image
Small escort ship, didn't arm it yet because I am unimaginative.

Image
This ship is pretty typical for my style and is the first of the bunch that I put together. :V

Image
And this one is pretty far removed from my style, though it's a shape aesthetic I've worked with before.

Image
And this one would be my accidental giant. It was supposed to be as big as the one twice above it. This just... sort of happened.

Still working on things, so I'll probably post more before the day is over. It's my birthday btw, ty for wishing me a happy birthday. :D

Oh look, it's an Anna.
I think that's excuse enough to go download IRC.

Also I need to stop dump-posting ships like this, I never get any good C&C since people don't know where to focus.

Indeed, it does present a bit of a problem.

I will say this, the second to last one you posted has an unusual shape that's really nice. I think that's something you could run with that would be fresh compared to the others.

I really like your grey fleet, but especially the middle one. It looks mean and can be a hard shape to pull off.
On the new stuff, I agree the second to last is awesome, and you should try to pull off more stuff like that because I can't stop staring at the wings on that thing. The green ones I don't mind the color but seems like all except the first one are missing some kind of flare. You have a good range of shapes there though and I love the color over dark grey effect. Perhaps if you named this stuff we would be able to give specific criticism, but all of these are pretty nifty and far better than I could ever pull off with shiny!

*edit* On that big tanish one, I'd say change the nose because it looks too much like the wings. Give it a distinctive shape and it will help the whole ship.

Alright, so I did a bit more work!

Firstly, changed the nose on the large tan ship.
Image
I think I like the other one better, and this is like the seventh draft I came up with and it's really simple.

And here goes some playing with new shapes, the Stolichnaya.
Image
I could see this either be a carrier or a battleship with a centerline beam cannon. (I love centerline beam cannons btw, all my ships had those back in the day)

And something that breaks into both shapes of the white ship with the curve-around and the winged tan ship, the Moskovskaya
Image
I like the shapes, not so much the angles, but it'll do. Also trying to break out of the habit of using certain sections way too much.

Shameless bump with more shape and angle play, the Hrenovuha!
Not quite sure what to say about it, it's outside of my comfort zone and therefore the sections usage is less than stellar.
I really think I pulled off the shape well, though.

Edit to avoid triple post:
Image
Putinka, an attempt at going slightly larger. It doesn't feel as refined as some of the other ones, so it's probably larger than I can deal with atm.

That last ship, I think would look better if you put that arm apparatus near the front to give it a bit more of an organic edge. As of now, it kinda has a weird shape.
All of these have wonderful sectionwork.

Wasn't quite sure if you meant folding the arms in a bit, or actually moving the whole mechanism forward. (The latter ended up looking really stupid)
I adjusted the curves anyway!

Also more schtuff.

Image
Shustov, in the vein of the stolichnaya!

Image
And dovgan, working with a slightly different approach for this one. (smaller in the back than in the front, unlike my usual smaller in the front etc)

Au Chevalier
Image
Tried playing around more with the whole layered-wings aesthetic, messed it up, ended up with an incredibly nice-looking mid-back section though so I decided to roll with it.
Can't build it a satisfying front for the life of me, so I settled for this bullcrap.

I like the new one. Sometimes a blockish front looks nice though the rest of the ship is a bit organic by comparison.
The Hrenovuha and Putinka are very nice, both in apperance and general section work. They have an almost Nanzish appearance to them.

Honestly, there's pretty much no point to uploading these. They're not really meant for playing, they all have standard Hestia stats and so far only the Au Chevalier has any kind of weaponry. I guess I could put up the .sb4's if people felt like dissecting them, but that's really the only point to it.

The Hrenovuha aesthetic is probably Nanzish not only because of the shapes and angles, but the color too! I wasn't planning on it, but I think it ended up happening that way subconsciously, and I've reflected upon the fact myself.

Also, because I couldn't think of anything new to do (or well I could, but I'm still working on it), I fixed the Au Chevalier, and uncharacteristically for me, armed it too.
