This is a giant mess of weapon spam and bad parenting.

It is generally considered good form for the number of weapons not to exceed the number of sections the ship is made of. Also, it is better if sections and weapons are parented to sections they are touching.

Perhaps you should try something a little bit simpler to develop basic skills before trying something so large. Keep at it.

Perhaps you should read the Readme as well as the FAQ here on the forums.

Parenting lines connect sections such that, in combat, whenever a section is destroyed, all of its children are destroyed as well.

As a general rule you might also want to avoid stretching...well, anything, or turning things, especially weapons, other than 45 degrees. It tends to blur things.

Those custom sections look like they could be interesting, but they need some polishing. Least I'm assuming they're yours since I've never seen them before.

Yeah, those were from a section pack. You can find them in the BSF Repack.

The parenting lines are covering a lot of the ship. You ought to turn them off before you take pictures.

From what I can see, it is a definite improvement in your building. However, mixing stock and SW style is generally bad, so you may want to try out some custom weapon sprites, or just not use weapons at all.

You're doing better; keep at it.

It looks like spiderman jizzed all over it :| turn off the parenting lines by pressing p! Looks like a good shape though...

I'd recommend looking up one of the tutorials on parenting. The idea is that the core is the main piece, but then each piece attached to it is the main piece to the ones around it. So the nose piece should be attached to the section next to it that is closer to the core, generally. This means that when enemies start blowing pieces off, there won't be huge gaps or floating pieces, and taking out a piece of armor won't blow up your engines. Also make sure weapons are attached to the section their on.

You can also turn the shield transparent by changing it to additive in the Edit 2 menu. Good luck and glad your building!
