Some ships I made.

Well, I am new to making ships. These/this ship(s) are probably going to look like 'crud' compared to others, but oh well. Criticism is wanted, but no flaming, please.

This one is my first attempt of making a decent ship.

I named it "Assault frigate". No storyline yet, soo..

I did a few mistakes on this one, but it seems to be okay now.

Welp, here is my next ship. I switched sprite packs, but the guns don't seem to fit well. Also, by looking at it I can tell its bad at combat.
Edit: Defence, not combat.

This one isin't really my style, but oh well.

The colors is to saturate i recommend you a New Stock of sprites

Saturated colors can work with retro sprites. There aren't any noticable flaws here, and for that I commend you. You should, however, get the new sprites and practice, and practice, and practice. Most of these people that your comparing yourself to, myself included, have been here for quite some time.

Theissue is that your still using saturated colors. It works for stock, not for this. The other main issue is that your using stock weapons on realistic sprites. You can change the weapon sprite under the ED2 tab.

Ok. Thanks for that. Also, I'm the newbie here, and I'm not sure what saturated colors are.

Saturated is when a color is high up on the chromatic scale. Adding white or gray to the color (sliding it up or down on the slider) decreases saturation and generally makes it look better. This thread contains good examples. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5932

This is what happened. For the Quadblaster, I had a hard time finding something.

Serithi, I believe, made the best quadblaster sprite. I'd poke around a few of his topics for it.

New ship. The shield in front may be a bit over-powered, but it has no defenses other than that.
